What is it?

High Build Garage Floor Paint is a solvent free epoxy resin based floor coating.

What is it used for?

It’s used to provide a strong, chemical and tyre resistant coating. High Build Garage Floor Paint is designed to protect your surface and provide an easy-to-clean, sealed garage floor. It is ultimately a very thick, roller-applied surface coating.

Who is it for?

This product can be used in both Industrial and Domestic environments.

Which surfaces or materials can I use it on?

This product can be used on almost any substrate. The best surfaces for the product are concrete, cement screeds, wood and tiles. We recommend that all substrates are primed before coating with this resin, as this will aid in the addition and durability of the finish.

What is the finish like? (thickness, appearance, resistance, slippage)

High Build Garage Floor Paint will provide a strong smooth and glossy coating. At a thickness of 300 microns, it’s the thickest coating you can roller apply. Its non-toxic & non-taint, plus its abrasion and chemical resistance are very good. Contaminants such as fuels, brake and clutch fluids & cleaners, AdBlue, and coolant, can just be cleaned off as it leaves a completely impervious surface The slip-resistance ratings, as a standard smooth finish are: Wet PTV 14 (R9) and Dry PTV 71 (R13).

What’s in the box? (Size of tins, labelling etc)

With this product you’ll receive two parts; one part will be called either Part A, Base or Resin and the other part will be called Part B, Hardener or Catalyst. Each part should be labelled to show the product name and its part weight. Both parts must be mixed fully in order to achieve the working product. If you do not mix them properly and to the ratio we have supplied, this may result in the product not working as it should.

How much does it cover?

High Build Garage Floor Paint is supplied in 5kg and 15kg units.

  • 5kg unit covers 15-20 sq. m
  • 15kg unit covers 45-60 sq. m

How do I apply it?

This product is best applied by roller to achieve a uniform appearance. Can also be applied by brush, trowel or squeegee. We advise to use a good quality, medium pile, woven roller sleeve. Using a roller sleeve of poor quality is not advised, as this may result in a contaminated finish.

How long does it take to set / dry?

  • Pot Life – Once both parts are mixed, our High Build Garage Floor Paint has a 30-35-minute working pot life based at 20˚C.
  • Curing Time – Once laid, our High Build Garage Floor Paint can be overcoated in 12-16 hours; light foot traffic can resume in 24 hours and full traffic in 48 hours.
  • Full chemical Cure – As with all epoxy resins, this is achieved after 7 days.

How long does it last?

Truly, this is a difficult question to answer because it will obviously vary depending on how much you use the surface. In a normal warehouse working environment, we comfortably estimate a working life of 7-10 years. Please note - areas of high footfall will wear faster than areas of high forklift/vehicle traffic.
