      Preparing your floor to paint:

Before applying Heavy Duty Warehouse Epoxy Floor Paint we recommend you key the surface you're coating to help the product bond, also ensure your surface is clean, solid & sound. You should ensure all contaminates, dust and surface laitance is removed by either chemical cleaning, sanding, shot-blasting and/or diamond grinding. Any old paint should also be removed before application.

For best results, you should prime your floor before painting. Please see below for the best primer for your floor:

      • For new concrete floors prime with Damp Proofing Primer (The word ‘new’ implies that the concrete has been laid for less than 7 days per inch of depth – Example a 4 inch thick piece of concrete that has been laid for 3 weeks would be classed as ‘new’)

      • For dusty or old clean floors prime with Water Based Primer

      • For weak concrete floors prime with Penetrating Epoxy Primer

      • For concrete floors without a DPM membrane, or where rising dampness is an issue, prime with Damp Proofing Primer

      • For greasy floors with oil residue clean thoroughly scraping off any dust or dirt and prime with Oil Tolerant Epoxy Primer

Where possible, stabilise the substrate temperature before application - this can be achieved by heating to a minimum temperature of 15°C for 24 hours prior to application.

Applying Heavy Duty Warehouse Epoxy Floor Paint:

We advise applying this product at a temperature between 10˚C and 25˚C. Surface temperature must be above 5°C. Heavy Duty Warehouse Epoxy Floor Paint is applied by roller, but can also be applied by brush and/or squeegee. We recommend a medium pile, woven sleeve. We do not recommend trying to clean used rollers and re-using them as this may result in an uneven application of paint.

The floor paint is supplied in 2 parts; ‘A’, ‘B’ / Hardener.

Add 100% of part ‘B’ tin to part ‘A’

Thoroughly mix for at least 2-3 minutes using a heavy-duty slow speed drill with a mixing paddle. Take care when mixing to ensure hardener is dispersed.

Roller apply the Heavy Duty Warehouse Epoxy Floor Paint down with a roller of medium pile and sleeve.

      For non-slip variants:

Sprinkle the aggregate supplied into the surface of the paint, then simply run the run the roller over it again to encapsulate stone.

Leave to dry to 12-24 hours, then apply a second coat the same way.

Once complete, tools and equipment should be cleaned whilst resin is still wet using clean, cold water. Reacted material can only be cleaned/removed mechanically. Hands and skin should be cleaned immediately with hot soapy water.

Please note: The pot life of this product is 25-30 minutes.

      What is it?

Heavy Duty Warehouse Epoxy Floor Paint is a solvent free epoxy resin based floor coating.

      What is it used for?

It’s used to seal your substrate, and produce a hard wearing, long-lasting and easy-to-clean surface for warehousing, production, engineering and storage facilities. Ultimately, it’s a very thick, roller-applied surface coating.

      Who is it for?

The Industrial sector, i.e. Warehouses, Factories, Hangars, etc.

Which surfaces or materials can I use it on?

This product can be used on almost any substrate. The best surfaces for the product are concrete, cement screeds, wood and tiles. We recommend that all substrates are primed before coating with this resin, as this will aid in the addition and durability of the finish.

What is the finish like? (thickness, appearance, resistance, slippage)

Heavy Duty Warehouse Epoxy Floor Paint will provide a strong, smooth and glossy coating. At a thickness of 300 microns, it’s the thickest coating you can roller apply. Its abrasion and chemical resistance is very good, no coating is essentially ‘scratch proof’ however this product is highly scratch resistant. Heavy Duty Warehouse Epoxy Floor Paint is non-toxic and non-taint; therefore, it is food safe. The finish will be totally impervious, so no liquid substance should soak through. The slip-resistance ratings, as a standard smooth finish are: Wet PTV 14 (R9) and Dry PTV 71 (R13)

What’s in the box? (Size of tins, labelling etc)

With this product you’ll receive two parts; one part will be called either Part A, Base or Resin and the other part will be called Part B, Hardener or Catalyst. Each part should be labelled to show the product name and its part weight. Both parts must be mixed fully in order to achieve the working product. If you do not mix them properly and to the ratio we have supplied, this may result in the product not working as it should.

      How much does it cover?

Heavy Duty Warehouse Epoxy Floor Paint is supplied in 7.5kg, 15kg and 25kg units.

      • 7.5kg unit covers 15-20sq. m
      • 15kg unit covers 30-40sq. m
      • 25kg unit covers 50-65sq. m

      How do I apply it?

This product is best applied by roller to achieve a uniform appearance. Can also be applied by brush, trowel or squeegee. We advise to use a good quality, medium pile, woven roller sleeve. Using a roller sleeve of poor quality is not advised, as this may result in a contaminated finish.

How long does it take to set / dry?

      • Pot Life – Once both parts are mixed, our Heavy Duty Warehouse Epoxy Floor Paint has a 30-35-minute working pot life based at 20˚C.
      • Curing Time – Once laid, our Heavy Duty Warehouse Epoxy Floor Paint can be overcoated in 16-36 hours; pedestrian traffic can resume in 24 hours and full traffic in 48 hours.
      • Full chemical Cure – As with all epoxy resins, this is achieved after 7 days.

      How long does it last?

Truly, this is a difficult question to answer because it will obviously vary depending on how much you use the surface. In a normal warehouse working environment, we comfortably estimate a working life of 7-10 years. Please note - areas of high footfall will wear faster than areas of high forklift/vehicle traffic.
